Reiki is a Japanese word that means "guided universal life energy'. Reiki Healing works on many different levels. It is a simple and powerful process, not based on any religious beliefs, that allows energy to flow through the healer’s hands to wherever it is needed by the receiver. It brings all aspects of the receiver's being into harmonious balance, according to their individual needs and desires.

The practice originated in ancient Tibet and was initially used exclusively by Tibetan Monks. It was rediscovered in Japan in the 1890's by Dr Mikao Usui, only making its way slowly to the west after the Second World War.
